William Adolphe Bouguereau was born in La Rochelle (France) (1825 – 1905) student at the Académie Julian in Paris, mythological themes and realistic paintings were exhibited in the annual exhibitions of the Paris show during his career.
Holder of a virtuous and accurate picture. Great knowledgeable of human anatomy. He has raised the female image to its most melancholy evocation of tenderness, while being able to express the strength contained in the romantic impulse.
Among those who confessed admiration for his painting was the famous Chopin pianist.
